Early August 2013

If you have some guacamole, and you added some crispy, chopped bacon and some blue cheese crumbles, don’t you think you would have possibly the best dip ever?  I think so.  I think that would be hard to beat.

I’ve played some good golf at Sculley’s.  I’ve had some great rounds, some amazing shots…… many memories.  But I have never birdied #7.  I’m not sure if I’ve ever hit the green in regulation.  I’ve eagled most of the holes out there, but #7 has always been my Achilles.  One of these days I shall get my revenge.

Late July 2013

It’s a well-known fact that there exists no video of the “Blue Man Group” due to them being the same shade of blue used in video back drops.  Okay, it’s probably not well known. And it’s probably not actually factual.   But it does make me wish I had computer access so I could validate this thought.

Today’s song is a classic, “Come Together” by Aerosmith.  Just makes you want to get up and do something.  Anything.  Thank you Rock 103.

Mid July 2013

If you have a grandfather who dips the old powder form of smokeless tobacco, such as Rooster, and a grandmother who is sweet enough to make chocolate snuff for the kids (by simply mixing sugar and cocoa and putting it in an empty snuff can), then you should consider yourself lucky.  However, on one such occasion if one of the snuff cans doesn’t completely empty of its original contents, and it is given to a small child to clean, said child might think it appropriate to blow it out real hard, resulting in eyes, mouth, and nose full of snuff, thus deeming one “unlucky.” And if you don’t believe it can happen that way, just ask Mark.  I’m almost certain that that was his first tobacco experience.  More details to come perhaps.

Late June 2013

I wanted to write some food related comment, but have decided it would only make me hungry.

One of these days I will muster up the courage to really write about the day to day of life in WCF.  I can’t say that it will reflect life in all prisons, but I’ll give you the low down on this place.  You may be as surprised as I am.

Sorry that it’s so little here.  I keep saying I’ll do better.  Not sure what the problem is.

Mid June 2013

June 2013
Seeing these pictures, a few things come to mind.  For starters, Rob & Roy better watch their backs.  That’s “Angry Birds” if I ever saw one.  But the thing I notice even more is that I look rough.  And not just scraggly beard rough (which by the way is 15 months old today).   I mean I can look at this picture and see who didn’t take care of themselves.  Me.  So, Kids, don’t smoke. Don’t drink. Don’t play in the sun without protection. And moisturize.  You only get one body (even though some can opt for new parts) and it won’t last very long if you don’t take care of it.  That’s all.

Early June 2013

The song today is “Slow Ride” by Foghat.  Roll the window down, crank the radio up, and enjoy the ride.  This song always reminds me of Roy and me playing guitar hero.  It’s also on several soundtracks.  It’s a good one.  It’s crazy how a song can take you back in time.

I never liked peanut brittle.

I’ve never even seen a beef heart, but I think I could cut it up, marinate it, & grill it on kabobs and you would ask for seconds.  I’ll try that one day.  This is your warning.  Writing that just reminded me of the time I grilled chicken livers and gizzards.  The gizzards were great.  The livers were so bad that I almost never ate livers again.  I do NOT recommend grilled liver.
